White Center BOO! Halloween Event 2023: Halloween Fun and Community Spirit

On the spine-tingling Sunday of October 29, 2023, from 3pm to 6pm, our White Center BOO! Halloween event swept through the neighborhood, conjuring up an evening of excitement and fun. This ghostly gathering featured live music, tantalizing treats from Chato's, and a myriad of activities for the young and the young at heart, both indoors (with free swim at Evergreen Pool) and outdoors.

Our activities left attendees bewitched with delight. The "Cake Walk" had participants stepping lightly and hoping to land on a lucky number for a delectable treat. The "Face Painting" station transformed ordinary faces into extraordinary canvases of Halloween wonder. For those with a sweet tooth, the "Lollipop Toss" challenged aim and accuracy as sugary rewards dangled in the balance. And not to be forgotten, our "Raffle Items" kept the anticipation high, with lucky winners going home with thrilling prizes.

The festivities were so electrifying that you could almost feel the enchantment in the air, as evidenced by the captivating photos captured by Mel. With a resounding success, we exhausted all 200 meals within a mere two hours, leaving no doubt that our community came together to make this Halloween a memorable one.

This spellbinding event wouldn't have been possible without the support and collaboration of our partners. We extend our deepest appreciation to Evergreen Pool and the following vendors: YWCA, White Center Food Bank, Coalition for Drug for Youth, College Success Foundation, El Centro de la Raza, and King County Participatory Budgeting. Your contributions were instrumental in creating an enchanting atmosphere that brought smiles to countless faces.

As we look back on this year's BOO! Halloween event, we can't help but anticipate the delight of doing it all over again next year. With the magic of community spirit and collaboration, we're excited to continue these enchanting traditions that make White Center a wonderful place to call home. Thank you to all who participated, and stay tuned for more thrilling events in the future!
