Play and Learn

Kaleidoscope Play and Learn is a free facilitated playgroup where children and their caregivers play and learn together. Parents and caregivers create a community with one another, talking and sharing, while children have the important experience of playing with other children. Children 0-5 and their caregivers are welcome! Each Kaleidoscope Play & Learn group has at least one facilitator (on our staff) that leads activities with the children and caregivers.

Native Programming

Previously, our Native Programming are cosponsored by the Na'ah Illahee Fund, Evergreen High School, and Healthier Here. Currently we are making plans to bring back Native Play and Learn! If you know a community leader that has capacity to be our Native Advocate, please let us know!

I am from Somalia, I have been living in White Center last 5 years, also working with the CDA since 2017. I have 3 children and one of them still goes to our play and learn, I like walking and enjoy the nature and I don’t mind walking while is raining, Raining is my favorite season.

Elsa Benavides

Early Learning Advocate (Spanish)

Hola, my name is Elsa Benavides, and I'm the Spanish bilingual Play and Learn facilitator for the WCCDA. I have been in the WCCDA for 7 Years and have lived in White Center for 15 years. I was born in Mazatlan, Sinaloa Mexico and often return to visit my family and friends. I'm married and have two sons, and two step daughters. I love traveling, spending time with family, friends and my beautiful Cane Corso, Mora. I love the friendships and connections that I have established here as a facilitator and truly love how the WCCDA supports our entire diverse community,and the partnership we have developed in the community.

Family Engagement Advocate (Vietnamese)

Xin chào! My name is Tam Nguyen. I am Vietnamese. I have been living in White Center for about 20 years, and I have been working with the CDA for about 8 years. I have 2 teenage children. In my spare time, I like to walk, watch food and travel videos, and volunteer at community events.
