The Early Learning Connectors (ELCs) are responsible for promoting early learning and kindergarten readiness knowledge to Family, Friend and Neighbor (FFN) caregivers. The ELCs facilitate weekly Kaleidoscope Play and Learn groups for children 0-5 and their caregivers, connect families to resources and opportunities, and engage them in learning and leadership opportunities, including monthly parenting support groups. The Native Family ELC convenes families outside and plans lessons in relationship with the seasons and the land. The Early Learning Connector is an 18 hour per week position at $18 an hour. Benefits are not provided. This position is for a person with Lushootseed language skills, knowledge of early childhood development and parenting, familiarity with local plant and animal people, and the ability to be with families in nature, rain or shine. This is a place based program in White Center, serving Native families in South King County.
