Kogi, a Los Angeles-based mobile Korean BBQ truck business that has gained fame through Twitter by disclosing their next location to their followers, has captured the stomachs of foodies all over southern California. South Seattle already has a plethora of taco trucks, one in particular in White Center (Taqueria La Fondita), but none running on mobile technology like Kogi.

Enter Marination Mobile, a new venture headed by business partners Kamala Saxton and Roz Edison. The concept is similar to Kogi, but with an Asian Pacific Islander flair: a Korean-Hawaiian taco truck. Before you wipe the drool from your hungry mouths, check out this article on Marination Mobile (courtesy of EatAllAboutIt.com). This is sure to entire customers:

The first good sign: When Saxton answered the phone, she was busy cooking up a batch of kimchi fried rice, which will be one of the items sold on the truck, complete with a fried egg on top and a garnish of green onions, furakaki and sesame seeds. Other planned menu items: A kalbi taco, a spicy pork taco, braised tofu, and “Aloha Sliders” of kahlua pig on Hawaiian sweet rolls. And, says Saxton (whose heritage is both Hawaiian and Korean), she will not forget the Spam. Tacos start at $2, and nothing will run more than $5.

Because this is such good news for our city, i’d like to make a plea to Marination Mobile, who plan to open at the end of this month:

COME TO WHITE CENTER!

White Center’s community of over 32,000 is also the most diverse in the state. With enough push (through Twitter and word of mouth), an all-day visit will not only give you a lot of business, but the opportunity to show others what White Center has to offer - produce, cafe’s and various ethnic shops.

Consider our neighborhood and you won’t be disappointed!
